Students captivated by legal drama on television will get a real-life look at the drama experienced every work day by Claudia Zar, a state and federally certified court interpreter.
In this video, Zar describes growing up in an Italian-speaking family in Mexico, where she learned both English and Spanish in school, as well as working as a freelance interpreter and learning the court procedures. "Going to court is like reading a novel," she says, with another interesting story emerging every day.
This video was made possible by a generous donation from the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators, Seattle, WA.
